Manila Palm Nut
I love these! I am only after the nut inside, though I do also really enjoy biting through the woody texture of the flesh around it. There are 6 Manila Palm trees in my garden, and although its often called the Christmas Palm, one or more of them will have red berries on them at different times, giving me this fruit pretty much all year round.

Adonidia is a monotypic genus of flowering plants in the Arecaceae family. It consists of one species, the Manila Palm. It is commonly known as the "Christmas Palm" because its fruits become bright scarlet and tend to be that color in winter. It is found naturally growing only in the Philippines. It is threatened by habitat loss. On the other hand, it is widely planted in cultivation and grows well in tropical locations such as Hawaii and the southern half of the Florida peninsula.
